About Ron Hayes M.A.

Ron Hayes has been both teaching and creating art over his extensive and diverse career. Exhibiting for over 40 years in Toronto, New York, Zurich and Halifax he now has his own gallery in Canning.

Academically, Ron has a Master of Arts from The European Graduate School with a minor in psychology. He has worked in the past as an expressive art therapist in Toronto and now uses this training to help new students to overcome their fears and difficulties while exploring painting.

ArtCan was created in Canning, Nova Scotia in 2001 as a place to create and exhibit art. Ron is now retired from teaching at Acadia University in their Art department but continues to hold classes in a studio at ArtCan.

Ron is working primarily with oil paint and exploring the local landscape of Nova Scotia from which he draws inspiration. Ron always travels with his set of watercolours having painted in over 20 countries around the world. His work has been shown in Canada, the USA, and Switzerland.

His current body of work can be seen at Lightfoot&Wolfville Vineyard and always at ArtCan.
