Artist Statement
I am endlessly fascinated by words, line, gesture, and texture; I’m drawn over and over to organic forms which feel paradoxically inscrutable yet rich with meaning. Across disciplines, my work traces human relationships with the living world, embracing biodiversity, extinction, language, embodied (and other) ways of knowing. Through detailed, delicate, tactile projects, both multi-genre and multimedia, I trace the complex, fleshy fabric of our existence, the primacy of lived relationships to the creation of knowledge. My work records a collaborative flow of words and images from the world, emphasizing experiences of being in situ (in place) and in temporam (in time). This rich, phenomenological approach always remains in direct engagement with materials, places, beings—every attempt co-created with the work of other artists, writers, thinkers, and our more-than-human kin.

Artist Statement
Dreamers (self-portrait) is a love letter to those working towards authenticity (my favorite quality in people). Authentically holding, listening, sharing their body-minds with all versions of themselves and everything around them.
I dream of expansiveness and bravery giving birth to resilience and deeper connection.
In my search for anti-repressive structures and routines, I look to the natural world for guidance. My maternal Acadian ancestors remind me of the balance in seasonal rituals. They invite an awareness of patterns in the natural world that align with me.
How is the natural world my mirror?
Light has become my symbol for authenticity – nurturing it into maturation. I bow to the wisdom of shadows. I explore in the periphery of light and how its spaciousness radiates. Circular forms and repetitive lines are prevalent in my work. I view these circular forms as clocks or time keepers, moving with the pacing and natural rhythms of the world.
